Ron English

American contemporary artist Ron English is one of the representative founders of American street fashion art. He coined the term "POPaganda" to describe his artistic style of mixing high and low culture. English has a profound art background. In the 1980s, he began to "hold" large-scale advertising billboards on the US roadside, and implemented cultural interference by transforming large billboards. Later, he also transferred cultural interference to the product packaging, re-creating several different cereal boxes, milk boxes, cigarette cases and other packaging to reveal the cruel truth behind corporate advertising. Meanwhile, through the skeleton’s sly smile, he examines and reshapes his childhood with mature techniques, and meticulously reveals the pop culture characters and the dark side of capitalism hidden behind the images.
